Workshop Palestinian Embroidery with Amira

The art of Tatreez, the traditional Palestinian embroidery tells stories through intricate patterns and stitches. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the history and cultural significance of Tatreez. Amira is an anticolonial, anticapitalist, feminist activist.

Palestine activism was passed on to her by her parents who were student activists for Palestine in the 1980s. She organizes demonstrations and fundraisers, gives her perspective as a diaspora Palestinian in panel talks and tries to give her voice to her people in Palestine when holding speeches on demonstrations. She shares her passion for Palestinian embroidery in workshops and sells handmade crafts to raise money for friends in Gaza. She makes a living as a pharmacist in Berlin.
